This morning was the first official day of my bus being split. Which is a good thing, since we have WAY to many people on our bus, which has 11 and a half seats. Yup, 11 1/2. EXCEPT...this morning I rode with my friend to school, because she only rides the bus in the afternoons. And after school I walked with another friend to a library. So I get to wait until Monday to find out what the new bus routes is.

So, awile ago I walked into homeroom and saw a thing on my desk for picture day, which was that day -and they hadn't told anyone. So I picked my background and in 4th we went to go get them.

Now we have them, and we get to decide if we want to buy them or not. But do you want to see them? Here they are:

Braces

Today, I got braces.

Well that sucks.

On Thursday, I quit band. When I got my new connections class, it was Careers. A lot of my friends have had Careers, and have often complained of how boring it is. Oh joy. But oh well, I only had one song that I was going to play in out of the three, so from now 'till March wouldn't have been very fun in band, anyways. At least I don't have PE for A and B day :)

Today, Monday December 14 (2009) is a A Connections day. But no, really -tonight is the Geminids meteor shower. The moon will be a 'thin crescent moon' near sunrise, 'so it won't dim the Geminids' luster.' Here is what the site says (click title for a link)

How can I best view a meteor shower?

If you live near a brightly lit city, drive away from the glow of city lights and toward the constellation from which the meteors will appear to radiate.

For example, drive north to view the Leonids. Driving south may lead you to darker skies, but the glow will dominate the northern horizon, where Leo rises. Perseid meteors will appear to "rain" into the atmosphere from the constellation Perseus, which rises in the northeast around 11 p.m. in mid-August.

After you've escaped the city glow, find a dark, secluded spot where oncoming car headlights will not periodically ruin your sensitive night vision. Look for state or city parks or other safe, dark sites.

Once you have settled at your observing spot, lay back or position yourself so the horizon appears at the edge of your peripheral vision, with the stars and sky filling your field of view. Meteors will instantly grab your attention as they streak by.

How do I know the sky is dark enough to see meteors?

If you can see each star of the Little Dipper, your eyes have "dark adapted," and your chosen site is probably dark enough. Under these conditions, you will see plenty of meteors.

So there you have it. Meteor shower, tonight!

Ok, so sorry I haven' posted anything new on here. Its just there isn't really anything TO post. If I think of something, I'll let you know.

Mrs. Schwartz

Mrs. Schwartz died on Saturday. I've known her since third grade, when I met her son as well. She had a cold, and was working at Simonton Elementary. She 'had an episode' as my teacher put it (Not really sure what that means) and was taken to the hospital, where they performed a surgery. She was on life support, and they took her off on Saturday because she was unconscious the whole time. She was signed up for Organ Donation, she they did that 9:15 am. Aaron and his sister both went to school today, wanting everything to be as normal as possible. The DMS Care Team is giving Restraunt Gift Cards to them, because they probably don't want to cook. The service is at Wage's on Wedsnay, at 10:00. They don't want everyone to wear black, because it is a Celebration of her life -not a tribute to her death. She is going to be cremated, and there will not be a viewing.

She was very nice, and funny. She was...Mrs. Schwartz.
